Brisbane has the perfect climate and world-class facilities for major events. Suncorp Stadium is recognised by players and spectators alike for its intimate atmosphere and unparalleled viewing excellence. The Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre is a purpose built world-class athletics centre hosting over 100 events annually. The new Queensland Tennis Centre will be a 5,500 seat capacity, roofed international-standard centre and home to the Australian Hard Court Championships from 2009. Other unique venues such as the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, the Brisbane Powerhouse and the award winning Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre contribute to the city’s attractiveness as a major event destination.
